An anonymous inbox is an open door
That is the appeal and it is also the risk. Most messages are kind or funny. Some are not, and the person who sent one is often someone you know. Before you share your link, decide honestly whether you want that door open this week.
You can close it at any time. Deleting your account takes one tap in Settings and the link stops working immediately.
What we block automatically
Every message is checked before it reaches you. We hold back and never deliver messages that:
- Threaten violence against you.
- Tell you to hurt or kill yourself.
- Contain sexual content.
- Contain links, which are almost always scams.
No filter catches everything. If something got through, it is not your fault and we want to know.
Report a message
Email hello@psst.link with a screenshot and your username. We read every report. If a message is a credible threat we keep it as evidence and cooperate with the police.
If it will not stop
- Delete your account. Settings, then delete. The link dies with it, and you can make a new one under a different name whenever you want.
- Screenshot first. If you may want to report it to a school or the police, keep the evidence before you delete anything.
- Tell someone real. A parent, a teacher, a friend. Anonymous harassment works by making you feel like you are the only one who saw it.
For parents
Psst is a website, not an app, so it will not appear in a phone's app list. Look for a link on your child's story or in their browser history.
We store no location data, no contacts and no photos. Messages are deleted after 30 days on the free plan. An account and everything in it can be deleted permanently in one step, by your child or by you if you have their inbox link.
Psst is for ages 13 and over. To report an account belonging to a younger child, email us and we will delete it.
What we will never do
We will never sell you information about who sent a message, and we will never pretend we can. We do not have it. Any service that offers to reveal a sender for money is either guessing or lying, and the largest one was fined $5 million by the United States Federal Trade Commission in 2024 for doing exactly that.
